Contest timeline
Contest begins November 18, 2010, and ends January 19, 2011 ("Contest Period"). Entries will be accepted between November 18, 2010, and January 19, 2011 ("Entry Period"). Five finalists will be announced on or around January 21, 2011. A voting period will take place from January 21, 2010, to January 27, 2011 ("Voting Period"). Winner will be announced on or around January 31, 2011. Dates are subject to change without notice.
Who may enter
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. Each entrant (hereafter referred to in these Rules as "entrant" or "you") must be eighteen years or older to enter. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of PicPads or affiliated companies and their immediate family are not eligible. Internet access is required to enter.
How to enter
To enter, you must complete a Contest Entry Form on PicPads' Photo Contest page at http://www.picpads.com/photocontest.php with your first name, last name and valid e-mail address. (Please note, you will receive an email to confirm you are a registered entrant.) Once you've completed the entry form, you will be directed to a page with instructions on how to submit photos and accompanying 50 word description either by email or, alternatively, online by posting on PicPad's wall. Entrants may submit up to three photos, however only one photo per entrant may be chosen as a finalist. All photo entries must be digital photos, submitted online or by email, and should be accompanied by the subject: "Charity Contest: [Charity Name]". Photos that PicPads deems, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate or objectionable for any reason will be void.
By submitting an entry, you warrant that your photo and other entry materials are your original work, that you took the photo yourself, and that the photo does not infringe on any third party's rights to copyright, logos, trademark, publicity or privacy. If a photo entry contains an identifiable person (including in crowds) other than you, you warrant that you have obtained the consent of each identifiable person to use the photo as outlined in these Rules.
By submitting an entry, you grant PicPads a non-exclusive, perpetual, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to publish, post, reproduce, modify, display, and otherwise use the photo and submitted content and an accompanying story, if any, in any form, in any manner, on PicPads' website, or any marketing or advertising of any kind without compensation to you or prior review. Subject to the foregoing, you retain ownership of the photo.
By submitting an entry, you release and hold harmless PicPads, its affiliates, employees, agencies, representatives and agents from any and all liability, loss, damage, or injury resulting from participation in this Contest, including, without limitation, claims based on violation of publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy or any third party claim arising from use of a photo and submitted content and an accompanying story, if any. You waive any right to privacy or right to inspect or approve uses of the photo and submitted content and an accompanying story, if any, or to be compensated for any such uses. By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by the decisions of the jury, agree to comply with these Rules and applicable laws, and, hereby represent you have read and understand these Rules. By submitting an entry, you authorize PicPads to send you via email product, marketing and promotional updates, offers and advertising about PicPads, its photo contests and products. You may unsubscribe from these emails at any time by following the email opt-out provisions.

Judging
Between January 19, 2011, and January 21, 2011, five finalists will be chosen by an expert panel from all eligible entries and notified via email. Finalists will be required to sign a release, and to obtain a release from each identifiable person in the photo. To be confirmed, potential finalists must respond and provide these releases within 48 hours of notification or by January 21, whichever is earlier; if a potential finalist does not respond within this time, the potential finalist will be disqualified and another finalist selected by the jury in his or her place. All finalists will be announced on or about January 21. Finalists will be chosen based equally upon the following criteria: visual appeal, creativity, and relevance to the theme "why this particular charitable organizations inspires me and makes a positive impact."
Voting
Finalist photos will be voted on during the Voting Period by the general public on the PicPads website. The results of the vote will determine the Grand Prize winner of the Contest. In the event of a tie vote, the jury will determine the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize Winner will be notified by e-mail within five days after the close of the Voting Period.
Prizes
Grand Prize:Winner receives 100 PicPads customized for the winning organization
Finalist Prize: All five finalists, including the grand prize winner, will receive a set of color or black & white PicPad NoteCards with the photo and story submitted featured on the back. No photo substitutions will be permitted. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. PicPads reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Expenses and all taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. PicPads may also post any of the entries and winners on PicPads' Website.
General
All entries become the sole property of PicPads and none will be returned. PicPads is not obligated to use your photo and we may not notify you if we do not use it. PicPads is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries or photos. This Contest shall be governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflicts of laws.
