How do I know if my photo is good enough to print?

The higher the resolution, the sharper the image. So, for best results, choose a digital photo taken at the highest resolution your digital camera will allow. We recommend 1280 x 1024 pixels. Please check your camera's manual for specifics about your camera.

It is best to send us photos directly from your camera or hard drive. Avoid sending us photos from a “photo album” website, which typically saves uploaded images at a low resolution for internet viewing.

What if I'm still not sure if my photo is good enough to print?

Still in doubt? Email your photo to us before placing an order. We'll let you know if it is good enough to print. Send your photo to customerservice@picpads.com.

And don't worry! If you place an order with a photo that we think will not print well, we will contact you immediately and request an alternate photo be sent.

Can I send PicPads a scanned photograph?

Yes. When you scan your color or black and white photograph, please set the resolution to 300 dpi (dots per inch), at 4 x 5 inches.

Can you "PicPad" a really old photo?

Yes. We create many PicPads using photos that are older than we are! If the photo is faded or damaged we strongly recommend choosing the "Frame Entire Photo" layout for your PicPad, as the image might not look well silhouetted.

Can you make B&W PicPads from a color photo?

Yes. We will convert your color photo to B&W and then make your pads. Please note, we cannot make color PicPads from a B&W photo.

How do I upload my photo?

  1. Make sure your photo is located on your computer's hard drive.
  2. From the Create Your PicPads page, click the Browse button when ready to upload your photo.
  3. Locate your photo in your files on your hard drive, disk, or digital camera.
  4. Select the photo and then click OK to upload it.
  5. Allow 1-3 minutes for your photo to upload.

What image file types do you accept?

We accept digital photos in jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp, tif and psd file formats up to 30 MB in size.

Is there a maximum file size?

We accept files up to 30 MB in size in jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp, tif and psd formats.

Can I place my order and send my photo to you separately?

Yes. Check the box "Image to be sent separately," complete the Create PicPads process and then checkout. You will receive a PicPads "Order Confirmation" email from customerservice@picpads.com.

Emailing your digital photo
Reply to the Order Confirmation email and attach your digital photo, or send it to customerservice@picpads.com making sure to include your PicPads order number.

Mailing your color or black & white hard copy print to PicPads
We will be happy to scan your photo(s) and return them to you when your order ships. Please include a check made out to PicPads for $5 for each photo scanned. Kindly write your PicPads order number on the back of your color or black and white photograph so we can match it up with your online order. Print out the Order Confirmation email and enclose it with your print, and send both to:

I want to design the layout of my pads, is that possible?

No problem! Please specify your preferred layout in the “Optional Design Instructions” box on the Create Your PicPads page. We'll do the rest.

Can I request a font for my inscription?

Yes, please let us know if you have a font preference. Otherwise, our artists will select a font that best matches the character of your photo.

May I see a sample of my pads before you print them?

We apologize that we cannot provide you with a proof of your order prior to printing. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your pads, return them to us unopened. (Customer is responsible for return shipping fees.) We will re-design them free of charge or provide you with a full refund.

How do I purchase a Gift Certificate?

You can purchase a gift certificate just like any other product in our store:

  1. Place your purchase online.
  2. The amount you purchase will be placed in a special "Gift Certificate Account" located in the "My Account" section of your shopping cart.
  3. Then simply email your gift certificate to the recipient. Go to My Account and click on "Send Gift Certificate."

How do I send a Gift Certificate?

  1. Go to My Account in your Shopping Cart.
  2. Click on "Send Gift Certificate." Provide the necessary information for the recipient, and send!

How do I redeem a Gift Certificate?

  1. Your Gift Certificate email contains a Gift Certificate Code. (You might want to print out this email for future reference.)
  2. Click on the link contained within your email. This will take you to the PicPads "Redeem Gift Certificate" page.
  3. Create an account to log in. Then place your order.
  4. During the checkout process, on the Payment Method page there will be a Gift Certificate Code box. Enter the Gift Certificate Code here if you have not already redeemed your Gift Certificate by clicking on the link in your E-mail, then click the "Continue" button. The code will be validated and you may proceed to checkout.

How are PicPads shipped?

We ship all our products via the United States Post Office. You may choose Priority mail (1-4 days) or Express Mail (1-2 days) upon check out.

How long does it take to receive an order?

Production time is 10 business days. Allow additional time for shipping.

Why haven't I received a reply from customerservice@PicPads.com?

We pride ourselves in excellent Customer Service, and answer all emails in 24 hours. If you have not heard back from us please check your email program. It may be filtering our PicPads response email as "Junk Mail" (That's OK, we don't take it personally!) Consult your Internet Service Provider or its Help Section for assistance configuring your email filter settings. Also, you can add the following email address domain to bypass your SPAM filter: picpads.com.
